News: Hardee’s Country Fried Steak ‘N’ Gravy Biscuit – I Want It

Curses!  This new Country Fried Steak ‘N’ Gravy Biscuit from Hardee’s looks like the culinary equivalent of a unicorn galloping across a rainbow.  Country fried steak + biscuits and gravy = Serious Awesome.  Unfortunately, I happen to live in a part of the country that thinks Carl’s Jr. when they see the Happy Star, not Hardee’s.  The closest Hardee’s to me is approximately 982 miles away and it would take 18 hours and 12 minutes to drive there.  Not that I considered doing such a thing.  That would be silly, right?

Their website describes the sandwich as “A seasoned, country fried steak with a generous portion of sausage gravy served between a Made From Scratch® buttermilk biscuit.”

My heart and stomach ache for it.

I’ll have to live vicariously through other people’s reviews for now.  Hopefully, if it sells well, they’ll bring it over to Carl’s Jr.’s menu.  If that ever happens, I’ll be on the Country Fried Steak ‘N’ Gravy Biscuit like sausage gravy on a country fried steak.  Aw, man.  Even my terrible analogies show I’ve got Hardee’s on the brain.

If you actually live in a state that has a Hardee’s, the sandwich retails for $2.19.  I urge you to try one out and let me know what you think!

  1. I would like to preface this review by stating that this Hardee’s Country Fried Steak ‘N’ Gravy Biscuit was made yesterday morning. I refrigerated it, then reheated it in the microwave just moments ago. Don’t groan at the thought of microwave-reheated food. My microwave has an inverter which somehow cooks and reheats evenly without overdone outsides. So there.

Kelley, without going into some long-winded review, it’s fucking delicious. Is it something I would order every time from now on when eating fast food for breakfast? Probably not, as I am not really a country fried steak ‘n’ gravy biscuit kinda girl. However, it is indeed tasty, though lacking slightly in the gravy department. The less-than-adequate amount of gravy on the sandwich is disappointing, but the sandwich still holds its own without it. I’m also not a big gravy fan, so the amount of gravy was fine for me, but I imagine anyone else would like to have more gravy on it. The meat is a bit spicy, as country fried steak should be, but not too spicy. And, most importantly, NO YUCKY BITS. You know what I’m talkin’ ’bout.

If you would like a better, more thorough review and/or pics, please let me know. The nearest Hardee’s is only 6 miles away. 🙂

  2. OK, after having finished the entire sandwich (the first post was written halfway through), I gotta say, it’s filling. Like really filling. There is a solid lump of country fried steak in my stomach. I feel like a solid lump of country fried steak.

I also keep getting the dueling banjos from Deliverance stuck in my head. This can’t be good.

  3. I live in Oklahoma and the area I am in, do not have Hardee’s. They are the Carl’s Jr. A few weeks ago, my wife went there and saw this sandwich and decided to buy one for her and one for me. I ate it and I was floored. It was AWESOME!! Since then, my wife stops there every other week on her payday to pick 2 up for her and 2 for me. I am on medical leave from work so money is tight so we can not afford to go more often. These are the best fast food sandwiches I have ever had.

Is there a way to try maybe some country fried chicken? Not that the steak is not worth it! LOL.

  4. The Hardee’s here had them but has now decided to discontinue it in this part of the country, as they do with every GREAT menu item they come up with. I think they still have them in parts of the south but lota good that does me here in WI. 🙁

  5. I had a country fried steak and gravy biscuit here in South Carolina – and it rocks! Its delicious and filling and superb! Bravo Hardees!!

  6. This is an amazingly delicious breakfast sandwich. No Hardee’s where I live so I have to go visit the in-laws in Maryland to get my fix.
